Welcome to IoT Consulting!
It is June 2021 and after lengthy preparations IoT Consulting is launched. Run by Joost Kuckartz, who has been working on Internet of Things even before it was a widely known term.
The idea of IoT Consulting was founded from the vision of providing a technological approach to data usage coming from measurement equipment, while also guiding the process from begin to end. In addition, its core focus is on civil engineering infrastructure, where IoT is only recently starting to take shape.
Key to the vision of IoT Consulting is that technology is simply a vehicle for the needs of clients. We need to deliver products and services that provide value and solutions, not because a technology is ‘there’ and ‘cool’. We try to be technology-agnostic, but of course we have come across very forward-thinking technology providers that are ahead of others.
With over 15 years of experience in research and 10 years of experience in sensor systems and in particular structural health monitoring, the practice of using measurement technology to keep track of long-term deformation and dynamic effects of civil engineering infrastructure, Joost has a unique background to transform research to implementation. During his work at a global engineering consultancy firm, he developed monitoring systems, but also managed new IoT product developments. He employs his wide expertise in the full IoT pipeline, which ranges from data gathering using sensors to structured data storage to data analytics to visualization and usage in applications.
